Do (say “dew”) Peterson, one of the hardest-working men in Seattle show business (don’t mind that sweat folks, it’s just a little holy water), put together a crackerjack band to play an evening of Stevie Wonder tunes. He’s bringing the Wonder band to the Royal Room on March 23rd

Seattle power-pop band La Fille releases their new album Alright Already on March 15, with a record release show that day at Ballard’s Conor Byrne. Band leader Jay Louis, New Jersey expat, was kind enough to take some questions.

Sister Sparrow, the singer sometimes known as Arleigh Kincheloe, grew up singing and started Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds about ten years back, focusing on full-throated soul.  The new album Gold, credited to just Sister Sparrow (but with the Dirty Birds), came out last fall, and she’s bringing the crew to the Tractor on Tuesday, March 12th.

Gretta Harley unveils her latest project, a band called Love and Fury, co-masterminded with rock producer and songwriter Gary King. Working up vocals and lyrics from King’s original music tracks, Harley completed enough songs for the new Love and Fury album Planet, which they’ll premiere live at the record release party, Saturday February 23rd at the Royal Room.

Punk-funk conceptualists Thumpasaurus, spawned in L.A., visit the Sunset Tavern on Saturday, February 16th. Two of them were kind enough to expound on life, history, and  the “THUMP” modality.

The Dip, who came from points around the map to lay down the party beat here in town, throw themselves a weekend do for February 15th and 16th, at Neumos, for the release of their new album The Dip Delivers.

One of the most surprising, innovative, and versatile singers from Seattle, Sara Gazarek, returns to her hometown for a four-night stretch at Jazz Alley, January 31st to February 3rd. She’ll bring a new band, complete with some horns, and new songs from her forthcoming album.

The Boston-based seven-piece band just released their new song “Audrey Tell Me,” and is gearing up to create live magic. Ben was in New York and Michael in California spending some time with their families over the holiday break before having to take off on tour for a few months.

Portland-based singer-songwriter John Craigie carries an old soul in his young body. Listen to his album Scarecrow, and you’re transported back to the folk-rock scene in the ’60s and ’70s.
