Music fans of the Pacific Northwest, get ready for our sixth annual year-end daily local music showcase, 100 Bands in 100 Days, where every day until December 31st, we’ll be showcasing a new band or artist you have to know about. For the fourth year in a row, the showcase is once again presented by Verity Credit Union.

Make sure you are checking the #100Bands100Days hashtag on Twitter on a daily basis to stay on top of all the bands featured and be sure to follow Verity and NW_Music_Scene on there. Some days the featured act could be an established and locally-adored northwest-based musician and other times they could be a band with a small following that just hasn’t had their deserved time in the spotlight yet. Either way, we’re fairly confident you can come away from this daily segment with plenty of new favorites. Today’s featured act is One Step From Everywhere.

About the artist:

One Step From Everywhere is a high energy Seattle based rock band that blends an eclectic mix of styles and genres to create a unique musical experience. At the heart of the band is a classic rock sound which resonates from an earlier time when arena rock ruled the world and having a good time was at the top of everyone’s list. There is also a generous infusion of funk, punk and other junk that can be enjoyed on your car stereo as much as on the dance floor. Their lyrics paint a landscape of the human experience with an underlying theme of hope and are supported by fun catchy melodies delivered with soaring emotional vocals and powerfully tight musicianship.

The bio of today’s featured band talks a bit about a classic rock sound that the band clearly has adopted as a sort of personal signature. And while they definitely have a retro feel, nothing sounds tired, overdone and/or dated, instead, by borrowing from genres other than rock, they’ve been successful at creating a fresh and exciting sound, even inside the legacy rock world. If you are looking to add more great northwest rock bands to your radar, look no further than these guys, they can rock out with the best of them.
