Mts. & Tunnels CD Release 4/18 at Fremont Abbey with Jason Webley

Mts. & TunnelsThe release party for Mts. & Tunnels second album, ‘For a Day or a Lifetime’, is set for Saturday April 18th at the Fremont Abbey. The new record features familiar bandmates Chris Poage, Sarah Schmidt, Norman Baker Dan Schmidt with Tj Berry producing. Also on this album is co-production from Mike Coykendall, (M. Ward, She & Him) and haunting pedal steel from Bill Patton (Fleet Foxes, Low Hums)

‘For A Day Or A Lifetime’, the new album’s title, is the abandoned motto of the founder Chris Poage’s hometown of Bothell, Wa. He rescued and re-purposed the phrase in part as an appreciation for the itinerant musical life of the modern working musician. For example the current band was formed in 2012 around the gigs and time commitments of band members to such bands as Publish the Quest, Eternal Fair, Ian McFeron to name a few.

The time period between Mts. & Tunnels first and second album has also been a time of deep personal change for several of the band members. We are proud of our latest effort especially because we let our significant personal challenges lead us to make new music together as a part of Life, not in spite of it. Thus ‘For A Day Or A Lifetime’ also resonates throughout the tracks of the album itself, with haunting pedal steel and piano used to help punctuate 11 songs of love and loss.

The Fremont Abbey is located at 4272 Fremont ave N, Seattle. Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 8pm on 4/18 – All Ages, Bar with I.D. Special guest and local troubadour Jason Webley is performing at this event as well.
