MAPLE VALLEY, Wash. – Music fans of any age can find a new favorite band at this year’s VanFest! Enjoy music from 36 amazing artists on August 15 at Royal Arch Park in Maple Valley. Tickets are on sale now! Click HERE for tickets.
VanFest is best known for its do-it-yourself attitude, charity work and beautiful scenery. This year’s event will feature four stages backlit by the Cedar River. Last year, VanFest donated 258 pounds of food to the Maple Valley Food Bank and hopes to massively top that amount this year. Donations of cash or food are accepted on-site at the festival.
VanFest is continuing its efforts towards accessibility for the younger members of the community by offering $10 youth tickets for those with a high school or middle school ID. The tickets are regularly $20. Headlining local acts this year include post-punk act Naomi Punk, singer/rapper/actor/advice columnist Kitty, rapper Gifted Gab and indie rock trio Fauna Shade. There will also be a secret headlining guest band.
Music begins at noon and runs until 9 p.m. No preference is given to genre, fans can expect to hear folk, rock, electronic, hip hop, and experimental music.
Music from Maple Valley itself will be represented by bands such as if BEARS were BEES, Still Valley, Anime Dad, and Lockjaw.
VanFest is “about the community of Maple Valley … about giving back the only way I know how, by having my friends rock out in a park all day,” said Van Wolfe, founder.
Royal Arch Park is located at 20821 SE Renton Maple Valley Rd, Maple Valley, WA 98038.
