50 Bands in 50 Days – Day 13: Symbion Project
Welcome to the 13th day of 50 Bands in 50 Days, your go-to for discovery of some of the best talent coming out of the Pacific Northwest, one day and one band at a time, brought to you by GigTown. Today, our journey takes us to the Emerald City once again, to turn your ears onto one of the best coming out of the fertile Seattle electronic music scene, the Symbion Project.
From the mind of a producer who goes by the mononym of “K*ss*n”, whom has been making music since the early 1990s, Symbion Project is an electronic music outfit whose style pulls from various forms of electronic music, ranging from dizzying IDM to mechanical, hypnotic minimal techno to atmospheric, cinematic downtempo music. The project frequently collaborates with vocal guests, whose presences elevate Symbion Project’s to a whole new level of vividness and scope.
Over the past 6 months, the Symbion Project has played shows in Portland, LA, NYC, and Boston. Its Seattle debut show is on January 28th at the Re-Bar.
Symbion Project’s age and experience shines through in its music, especially its latest full-length, LP, Semiotic, which was released earlier this year. If you’re a fan of dark, far-reaching electronic music, you really can’t go wrong with Symbion Project.
