Seattle’s own punk-pop dystopia-protestors Wiscon’s new single and video “My First Day” is out on Friday, January 20. Peep the video and hear the song below, and please purchase your own download, as all proceeds go to the Southern Poverty Law Center to help fight hate crimes. “My First Day” was made just for the occasion happening at the end of this week, a perfect topic for a band that handles science fictional end of the world scenarios with mutant strength and power-pop soul-fire. Recorded on December 30th by the legendary regional sound-maven Conrad Uno (Mudhoney, Murder City Devils, many others), the band continues to display the musical talents praised by City Arts on their previous release, “cathartic, chock-full of ticklish riffs, sugary vocals and electric urgency.”
All proceeds go to Southern Poverty Law Center
You can also catch Wiscon at Dancing on the Valentine (new wave benefit for cancer awareness) at The Crocodile, February 10. At Central Saloon on February 24th and the Gibraltar release show with Head Like A Kite: Barboza, March 10th.
