Mt rainier Rhythm & Blues FestivalUPDATE: We just received this LAST MINUTE FESTIVAL SPECIAL. $10.00 off your ticket price if you order in advance online through Brown Paper Tickets!

The fifth annual Mt Rainier Rhythm & Blues Festival is almost upon us. On Saturday, September 24th, thousands of blues and music fans will descend upon the Mineral Lake Event Center in Mineral, Washington to enjoy a full day of rockin’, rollin’ blues music.

Much of the music this year, the festival’s fifth, comes from the International Blues Challenge, a competition featuring hundreds of the best acts from across the globe in an international competition to become top dog. Nich Vigarino’s Back Porch Stomp participated in the IBC finals this year, Randy Oxford and his band were also IBC finalists this year, and Oxford recently won “Blues Performer of the Year”. Georg Schroeter and Marc Breitfelder took home the IBC’s top prize in the solo/duo category. Additionally, The Rafael Tranqulino Band and the The Red Hot Blues Sisters will both be performing the festival. Both are set to represent the Washington Blues Association and the South Sound Blues Association respectively at the IBC this year. This much confirmed talent, all loosely competing for the hearts and minds of blues fans at large, will certainly make for a memorable twelve hours of music.

The festival boasts a number of amenities,  including close proximity to major metropolitan areas, indoor stages, available camping and RV hookups, on-site bonfire, and nearby lodging. Perhaps one of the more appealing attractions to the many musicians who often attend the events is an open jam around the bonfire. Though the event is less than 90 miles from Portland, it’s nestled deep within some of the most lush and picturesque terrain in the country, which creates a fantastic ambiance for a full day of live music and entertainment.

Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the gate. Active military, seniors, children, and those that bring nonperishable food items receive a discount.
