Bumbershoot Releases 2017 Dates

Bumbershoot–Seattle’s annual summer celebration will return to downtown Seattle under the iconic Space Needle on Labor Day Weekend 2017. The three day festival will take place at Seattle Center on Friday September 1st through Sunday September 3rd.

Early bird passes will go on sale this Friday October 21st at 10:00 AM PST and will be available online at www.Bumbershoot.com.2017 will mark the 47th annual installment of one of the nation’s longest running urban festivals. For 5 decades, Bumbershoot has served as Seattle’s ultimate summer party—a celebration of music, comedy, art and all things creative in an ever changing skyline and demographic in the Pacific Northwest’s most vibrant city.

 

2016 brought an increased local influence to the festival with headliners Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Death Cab For Cutiedelivering epic performances.  Attendees were able to experience new programming such as B-EATS, a culinary adventure curated by Dan Bugge of Matt’s In the Market and Radiator Whiskey, featuring some of the finest cuisine offered in the Pacific Northwest. Bumbershoot’s original spirit returned with Comedy at Zinzanni, featuring local and national comedy programming for the first time under Teatro ZInzanni’s velvet Spiegeltent. Sub Pop Records showcased the labels cultural heritage bringing an Art Installation, Pop-up Store & Immersive Experience – aka Bumberstore – providing a rare glimpse of the unique art, design, and culture associated with the label. Seattle locals were treated to some of the best buskers in the city. Also new to 2016 was the introduction of Yogashoot—two days of yoga sessions that kicked off the festivities on the Mural Amphitheatre lawn, hosted by two world renowned Yogis – Rachael Braethen and Liz Arch.

 

Programming announcements for Music, Comedy, Words & Ideas, Theatre, Dance, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Spectacles, 1 Reel Film Festival, Youngershoot, B-Eats, Yogashoot, and other programming—will be announced in spring 2017. Updates will be posted atwww.Bumbershoot.com.
