50 Bands in 50 Days – Day 31: The Salt Riot

50-50 FEATURED

Welcome to 50 Bands in 50 Days, where we’re ushering in a new year of great music with a showcase of some of the best bands from our local scene. This daily feature is brought to you by GigTown. Today we’d like to turn your ears onto one of the finest alternative rock bands coming out of Seattle, The Salt Riot.

The Salt Riot is a Seattle-based rock trio whose music comes on as strong and big as legend-making stadium rock, while still being charmingly intimate and relatable. The band blend an eclectic mix of creative influences, all of which play pivotal roles in the sound that defines The Salt Riot and makes them feel tastefully idiosyncratic.

The band’s latest full-length LP Dead Star was recorded and produced with innovative veteran David Miner at Chartreuse Muffin Studios. Three songs, “Would You Walk?”, “Nameless” and “Giver” were recorded and produced with Jack Machin at Mighty Maverick Studios. They had worked with Miner on an earlier EP, and say that sculpting their first full length there felt like creating “in their second home.”

The Salt Riot recently released a music video for their song “Angel”, which you can watch below. We look forward to hearing more from this band.
