Radkey to Rock the High Dive in November with The Fame Riot

This coming November, two stellar contemporary bands from opposite ends of the United States will be coming together for a show in Seattle. One of the northwest’s defining and most acclaimed musical duos, The Fame Riot, will be playing with rising St. Joseph, Missouri-based garage-punk outfit Radkey at the High Dive in Seattle. Set for November 16th, the show will be taking place just five days after the band’s label-debut for Another Century Records, Delicious Rock Noise, which is the band’s sophomore full-length album, following up their studio debut, Dark Black Makeup, an album that did gangbusters for the trio, and showed off their strength as a modern rock outfit with a lot of punch and personality.

The Fame Riot, meanwhile, is in the midst of their biggest spike in popularity yet. The tongue-in-cheek alternative/glam-pop duo has been known around the Seattle and Tacoma scenes for a while now as one of the greatest live bands in our region. They’re one of those local bands with top-of-the-line, extremely accessible music that you’d figure would make them a notable figure in more than just their local scene, and with them having also recently been signed to Another Century, it would appear that they’re steadily heading towards that spotlight. The duo’s latest release was the Heart Stray EP, a release that we noted for not necessarily pushing any musical boundaries, but standing up amazingly on “their songwriting ability and personality,” praising the EP for being, “a collection of seven very well-groomed, sharply-written dance-rock jams, all of which are incredibly fun and catchy, without feeling cheap or by-committee.”

Wall of Ears and the wonderfully-named Shit Ghost will be opening the show. Tickets to the show are priced at $10 for advanced tickets, and $15 day-of-show. You can purchase tickets here, and find out more information about the show here.
