2014 sees the the return of the fifth annual Soul’d Out Music Festival to Portland, featuring dozens of acts presented across a wide array of the city’s best venues. SOMF has quickly become a local and regional favorite known for its wide palette of world-renowned artists from across the musical spectrum.
With our initial Round 1 artist announcement, we celebrate the fact that “Soul” is subjective and not limited to boxes or classifications. The music that resonates most with you—whether Hip-Hop, Jazz, Funk, World Music, Electronic, or even Rock—is in fact your very own “Soul” music. We seek to bring all of these styles and tastes under one umbrella in order to help connect the dots between the many different groups and demographics that make up our city and region.
