Music fans of the Pacific Northwest, get ready for our fifth annual year-end daily local music showcase, 100 Bands in 100 Days, where every day until December 31st, we’re showcasing a new band or artist you have to know about, once again presented by Verity Credit Union.

Make sure you are checking the #100Bands100Days hashtag on Twitter on a daily basis to stay on top of all the bands featured and be sure to follow Verity and NW_Music_Scene there. Some days the featured act could be an established and locally-adored northwest-based musician and other times they could be a band with a small following that just hasn’t had their deserved time in the spotlight yet. Either way, we’re fairly confident you can come away from this daily segment with plenty of new favorites. Today’s featured artist is Saints by Day.

Bio:

Seattle native band Saints by Day play in the present, yet yearn for the nostalgia of music’s past. Subsisting on a diet of oldies, classic rock, punk, alternative rock and pop from an early age, the members of Saints by Day appreciate a variety of genres and attempt to combine them with introspective, curious, and sometimes self-deprecating lyrics.

Several songs from their upcoming album, Rebel Rabble can be streamed online. “Basement” reflects on the pros of introversion—escaping the outside world while eating Chinese food and playing video games. “ Brenda” channels the optimism of surf-rock with the turbulent sadness of being on edge. “Unreciprocated” is self-explanatory; experiencing the worst, but still hoping for the best. “Dashing” is a simple song capturing the beginnings of love, inspired and written after Tom Petty’s death.

While the past year has been spent mainly playing throughout the Seattle area, dabbling in acoustic shows and performing at the 2018 Seattle Acoustic Festival, Saints by Day is planning to release Rebel Rabble at the beginning of 2019.

If you’ve been on the hunt for another northwest act to support with a fun and energetic sound, Saints By Day might be just the thing for you. The catchy lyrics cover everything lifey, from sadness to hope and everything in between, teamed with sounds from a plethora of genres, resulting in a bright sounding and addicting indie groove. Check out their Bandcamp page HERE and go see them live on December 7, 2018 in Everett. (Details below)
