Waterfront Blues Festival FEATUREDOregon Food Bank announces the lineup today for its 28th annual Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival, presented by First Tech Federal Credit Union, on July 2 – 5, 2015 at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. Passes go on sale mid-April.

Headliners include:

Additional acts include:
Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band * Jessica Hernandez & the Deltas * Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds * Turkuaz * Jelly Bread * Stone Foxes * Con Brio * Jarekus Singleton * Christone “Kingfish” Ingram * Terry “Harmonica” Bean * Jimmy “Duck” Holmes * Corey Ledet & his Zydeco Band * Dog Hill Stompers * Rosie Ledet & the Zydeco Playboys

“From top to bottom, in terms of the range and diversity of our blues ‘mix,’ this year’s lineup is our strongest ever,” said Artistic Director Peter Dammann. “We’ve got legacy blues and blues rockers passing the torch to a stunning new generation of blues performers, along with Zydeco tunes for the blues/swing dance floor and funky neo-soul that’s embraced by the young jam band scene. We’ll continue to add performances to round out our four-day festival, ensuring another wonderful event experience for music fans of all ages.”

These performances will be a part of the 100 blues acts on four stages over the July 4th weekend to benefit Oregon Food Bank’s mission of fighting hunger and its root causes.

“The Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival is Oregon Food Bank’s single largest fundraising event. We work year-round to secure these amazing acts in order to raise funds for hunger relief in Oregon and Clark County, Washington,” said Laura Golino de Lovato, director of development, marketing and communications at Oregon Food Bank. “This year’s Blues Fest is as important as ever. Demand for food assistance remains exceptionally high because not everyone has benefited from an ‘improved’ economy.”
