Something Strange’s EP Release Party Going Down at The Mirkwood and Shire Cafe in Arlington on February 6th
Skagit County-born rock and blues trio Something Strange want the release party for their debut EP, the Blue Bird EP, to be a historic event. After taking first prize in the Youth Valley Showdown during the 2015 Skagit County Fair, Something Strange went on to record a 5-song EP with Local Legend Karl Blau in Anacortes in October of 2015. The EP consists of a blend of traditional rock ‘n’ roll, blues and folk.
The Blue Bird EP will be released later this month, and to celebrate, Something Strange will be holding a release party for the EP at The Mirkwood and Shire Cafe in Arlington, WA on February 6th, in tandem with the EP’s digital release. To accompany them, the trio have grabbed support in the form of local progressive rock band Mafyk, blues rock outfit Dire Fire, and R&B locals Northern Shakedown.
Tickets to the event will be $5.00 at the door. For more information about the venue, consult their website here. The Blue Bird EP is available for pre-order via Something Strange’s Bandcamp page. Watch a video preview of the EP below.
