Seattle gears up for Saturday’s Rock & Roll Marathon

rnrThis Course Rocks! With over 40 local music acts and two great headliners, this year’s version of the Seattle Rock & Roll Marathon is sure to be an entertaining affair and will leave you out of breath even if you don’t lace up your sneakers.

Music every mile makes up the heart and “sole” of this event. Live Seattle bands will be performing a variety of music from alternative to classic rock, punk, funk and blues to jazz it up. Runners and spectators alike will be “Dancin’ in the Streets” to these mini-concerts.

The Presidents of the United States of America

It will be a hometown gig for the three members of The Presidents of the United States of America when they play in front of more than 20,000 runners at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle Marathon & 1/2 Marathon. The band got its start in Seattle more than two decades ago and will headline the post-race concert on Saturday, June 21!

Sir Mix-A-Lot

Seattle is known for spawning numerous bands who have reached the heights of success, mostly in the grunge rock genre. But one of the city’s biggest hitmakers is the author of the legendary lyrics to “Baby Got Back,” Sir Mix-A-Lot, who will perform at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Seattle Marathon & ½ Marathon on Saturday, June 21 at Seattle Center.
