Quickie Finally Makes it into the Record Books!

Quickie changed their name to The Northwest Music Scene on April 1st 2011. ....for one day of course.!

Bikini Barista Band is World RecordSetter

Seattle, WA – March 14th, 2013 – RecordSetter, the new home of world records, has verified today that Seattle power-pop-trio Quickie, famous for the song and video Bikini Barista, now holds the world record for the most shows performed by a band in a single day: 44!

“It feels great,” says bandleader Lou Trez of the RecordSetter honor. “It took a while to make it happen (the gigs were in 2010). I’m absolutely elated!”

Not only does Quickie hold the record, they set it! The exhausting day of short, two-and-a-half-minute gigs up and down the Puget Sound had never been attempted before—and no one has tried it since.

“Everyone involved, from the band, to the venues, the fans and Zipfizz, our sponsor… Everyone helped accomplish something that has never been done before. We are a first. An original. And a World RecordSetter!”

Trez adds that “having an idea is one thing. Putting it into action is a completely different game. The Northwest is the best!”

Trez hints that you haven’t seen the last of Quickie. “We’re working on a new album, and… something even bigger and crazier than 44 shows in one day.”

Another World Record? Stay tuned…
