PREMIERE: Listen to “Short Notice” by Perfect Families

Premiering today on Northwest Music Scene is a new single from a Seattle band called Perfect Families.

“Short Notice” is the second single to be released from Seattle duo Perfect Families. It will appear on their upcoming EP, Gradients, which was recorded and produced by brothers and multi-instrumentalists, Joel and Micah Smith in the spring of 2017.

Lead singer Joel confidently floats above driving guitars while exploring personal themes of idealism, adulthood, and a much needed release of youthful naivete. Joel is 27 years old, and Micah, who just turned 30, reflects on the recent years: “We’ve both been dealing with the question of ‘what’s next?’ in our lives. At some point you have to give yourself a break and say this is enough, this is the life I want right now and I’m okay, and that can be hard to accept but also very freeing.”

The band has been building a steadfast following in the Pacific Northwest for the last four years, performing regularly in Seattle and Portland. They are known for their surprisingly energetic live shows featuring longtime friend Raven Macdaniels on guitar and enthusiastic newcomer Jeff Klein behind the drums.

Gradients, the brothers’ third self-released album, is scheduled to drop on cassette and in digital formats in mid-August.
