The geographical boundary is what is commonly known as the “Pacific Northwest” region of the United States. Basically from Southern Oregon to British Columbia and over to Idaho. For the purpose of this poll, we are sticking with full-length albums, even though there were some awesome EPs that came out this year and we REALLY wanted to include some of them. However it would muddy up the waters too much. We also considered having an EP category but we have our hands full just trying to stay on top of all the albums. We’re very sorry to anyone that released an EP that isn’t on here, we can assure you it isn’t because the music wasn’t good(in most cases).  One other word about this: we are classifying a full album as one containing 7 or more tracks, although if someone has a 6-track release and they are calling it a full album, we aren’t going to argue with them.

To be considered a 2014 release it needs to be widely accepted that it came out in the calendar year of 2014.  We reserve the right to make the final determination. We haven’t included anything that isn’t released yet because, well, you just never know. Anything can happen and then we’d potentially have a winner whose album isn’t even out yet.
