NW Premiere: Listen to “Fill the World” by Butcher/Benedictus

Today on Northwest Music Scene we are hosting the NW premiere of “Fill the World from Butcher/Benedictus. All proceeds from this song go directly to supporting music for kids in schools via the amazing nonprofit Music Unites. Check them out at http://www.musicunites.org! This upbeat synthpop number serves as a beacon as we make our way through these dark and uncertain times and the hook “Everyone, let’s fill the world with love” is exactly what we need right now.

“For anyone with empathy and concern about our friends, family, and fellow humans as well as the increasingly dangerous world whether from climate change, political divisiveness, and now a pandemic health crisis, the walls of the world can start to feel like they’re closing in. So many of us can feel that we’re powerless and that even though we might be angry or yearning for change that we have no ability to make meaningful changes in the world.  But this song is about destroying that narrative and giving all of us some agency. We all have a voice that we can use, and the best way to bring people together and to shape the world in the image we want is to fill the world with love.

“Benedictus and I (Butcher) wrote and recorded this song in my Seattle studio in early 2020 before the pandemic hit.  But now more than ever, we felt that the world needs love, and we want to empower each and every one of us with a message of hope, compassion, and energy.  That’s why we decided to release this song now. Let’s fill the world with love!”
