Nicolas Jaar to Bring Live Experience to Neptune Theatre on Halloween
Famed leftfield electronic artist, DJ, producer, and composer Nicolas Jaar will be heading out on a tour of live dates, bringing his notoriously mind-altering live performances to various parts of North America and beyond. With the tour set to start in mid-October, Jaar will be touring in support of his sophomore full-length record, Sirens, set for release digitally on September 30th, and on vinyl format October 14th via Jaar’s forward-thinking genre-bending label Other People. It was only just a handful of days ago Jaar announced the massively-anticipated follow-up to his critically-beloved 2011 debut album, Space Is Only Noise, an album which put the then-under-the-radar producer on the map as an electronic musician with a wildly original approach to the genre. With this announcement, in combination with a crafty interactive website and cryptic pictures on social media that would eventually lead to Sirens‘ announcement, it would appear that Jaar is looking to be skyrocketed back into the limelight of the electronic music world as a solo artist once again.
On this extensive North American and European tour, Nicolas Jaar will be making three appearances in the Pacific Northwest at the tail-end of October and start of November, with one set for Portland’s Wonder Ballroom on November 2nd, an already sold-out date at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, B.C., and perhaps most interestingly, an appearance at the Neptune Theatre in Seattle on Halloween, October 31st. This will mark Nicolas Jaar’s first appearance in Seattle since a rare DJ set during Decibel Festival 2015, and will be his first live performance in Seattle since his previous Decibel Festival appearance in 2013 alongside fellow minimalist electronic musicians Mount Kimbie.
Those of you in Seattle who aren’t looking to trick-or-treat, or get dumpstered at your friend’s Halloween house party this October 31st might wanna consider heading the Neptune and be transported to a completely new world through Nico Jaar’s vivid and atmospheric music.
