Light In The Attic Records is opening a record shop in the KEXP Gathering Space located at 472 1st Avenue N., at Seattle Center. The Light In The Attic Record Store opens its doors for customers the day after Thanksgiving and is slated to be running full time in the location through March 2017. Regular store hours will be Tuesday through Sunday 11 AM to 7 PM.

For Black Friday, November 25th, the store will have extended hours from 9 AM to 8 PM with dozens of Black Friday titles in stock, while all regular titles will be 10% off. Additionally, there will be free records with every purchase.

The shop will not only carry Light In The Attic releases and Light In The Attic distributed titles on other labels, but also thousands of additional releases, as well as used records — and titles specially hand-picked by KEXP DJ’s.

Revered and celebrated around the world for its deluxe reissues by Rodriguez, Betty Davis, Lee Hazlewood, Sly Stone, Thin Lizzy, Karen Dalton, The Shaggs, and many other legendary artists, as well as unique and history making compilations such as Wheedle’s Groove and Native North America, Light In The Attic joins as a retail part of the KEXP Gathering Space, where diverse live in-studio concerts and music-based community events occur.

Light In The Attic Records started in Seattle and now has offices in Los Angeles, but since its origins in July 2001 has always contributed to the creative flavor of the Pacific NW music scene, throwing Summer Extravaganzas with live bands at their previous warehouse, and hosting many events documenting the history of Seattle’s rock, soul, funk, and other scenes. Many of the label’s titles are so unique and long-awaited that they sell out quickly through mail order, so this way fans and collectors can go someplace and hand-pick brand new and rare releases. The label has put out over 200 classics, and launched additional labels Modern Classics Recordings for special vinyl-only releases like D’Angelo, The Stone Roses and Digable Planets, as well as film and soundtrack imprint Cinewax and Future Days Recordings.

Light In The Attic is also a worldwide distributor for over 50 record labels of rare R&B, psychedelia, New Age, punk, and countless other genres, and the Light In The Attic Store will make it easier to check out these unusual and exciting distributed records as well.

KEXP opened its splendid new digs at the Center back in April 2016, throwing a massive multi-artist concert, and now has the opportunity to hook deep music heads up with gems played on the various excellent programs KEXP hosts and promotes.
