KEXP Presents 15th Annual Expansions MLK Unity Party to Take Place January 18th, 2015.
KEXP 90.3 FM is proud to present the 15th Annual Expansions MLK Unity Party Sunday January 18 at 8pm at the Columbia City Theater in Seattle, Washington in partnership with Bike Works, Washington Bus and Powerful Voices. Join KEXP’s DJ Masa, DJ Riz and DJ Kid Hops for a celebration of music and dance to honor the Reverend Martin Luther King.
“For 15 years, KEXP’s Expansions MLK Unity Party has brought together diverse voices that make up the KEXP community,” said event co-organizer and KEXP DJ Sharlese Metcalf. “Events like this help resolve the violence we continue to see in our communities and around the world. Break down those barriers and get out there and dance! It’s a language we can all understand and join in together.”
Bike Works, Washington Bus, and Powerful Voices each address different priorities within the community, but all of them are helping to build a stronger future by working with our youth.
Ticket prices for the Expansions MLK Unity Party remain the same as when the party started in 2000: $5.00 (plus applicable service fees) in advance through Brown Paper Tickets, or $7.00 day of event. Doors open at 8pm, event ends at 2am, this event is 21+ only. Columbia City Theatre is located at 4916 Rainier Ave S, Seattle, WA 98118.
