Jonathan Warren & The Billy Goats Climb into the High Dive October 22

Jonathan Warren & The Billy Goats call their style of genre-blending music “progressive psychobilly folk grass” and “new-timey, post-retro, pre-apocalyptic, Southern Appalachian gypsy porch swing.” But the easiest way to describe it is also the simplest: damn good. On October 15, the Boise-based trio releases their third album, On This Very Evening. Brimming with boundless energy and irresistible songs written everywhere from Tennessee riverbanks to Idaho jail cells, On This Very Evening is simultaneously Jonathan Warren & The Billy Goats’ most ambitious and most accessible recording.

The band – which has shared stages with acts like Langhorne Slim and Blitzen Trapper – hits the road on September 25 for six jam-packed weeks. With more than two dozen shows already scheduled at venues across the west, Jonathan Warren & The Billy Goats are approaching this like they approach their heart-racing, foot-stomping music: with no-holds-barred.
