For its 56th incarnation, Flatstock is back to curate some of the world’s best poster artists in conjunction with Bumbershoot and the American Poster Institute. Happening September 2 through 5 in the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall, Flatstock 56 is sticking around for the full event weekend. Additionally, the show will be open the following Monday and free to the public from 10am to 6pm, no Bumbershoot pass required.
Featured at this year’s Flatstock 56 will be the works of some of the world’s most recognizable and famous concert poster artists. Presented by the American Poster Institute (API), Bumbershoot and KEXP 90.3, Fatstock will display posters of varying styles, colors and techniques for sale by the talented artists who created them.
“The best concert posters have always captured both the essence of the music they promoted and the spirit of the time in which they were produced,” Said Eric Carnell, Director at Independence Printage Corp. “Flatstock provides an ongoing series of opportunities to see fine poster art in person and to meet the artists who created it.”
Prior to Bumbershoot, KEXP will be hosting Flatstock 56 preview featuring 30+ posters for the show. Flatstock 56 is a free event, which means there are more local designers, with only a couple from outside the region.
