First Annual Westerlies Fest announces Seattle dates with special guests

Seattle-bred, New York-based brass quartet The Westerlies return home to present the first annual Westerlies Fest, a four-day music festival in Seattle from September 20-23, 2018.

Combining evening performances with daytime in-school concerts and a weekend creative music workshop, The Westerlies will reach over 1,000 local students in Seattle and surrounding underserved areas to give back to the city that raised them.

Special guests to include vocalist Theo Bleckmann, singer/songwriter Kate Davis, contemporary ensemble TORCH, and poet Troy Osaki. Presented at Seattle Pacific University with Common Tone Arts.

Nightly performances featuring The Westerlies and an eclectic lineup of guest artists and collaborators, including GRAMMY-nominated vocalist Theo Bleckmann and rising star singer/songwriter Kate Davis.

The Westerlies will host a two-day weekend workshop at Seattle Pacific University for students of all instruments and experience levels. The Westerlies will share their unique approach to composition, improvisation, and ensemble practice, culminating in student ensemble performances on Sunday afternoon.

The Westerlies are engaging in two days of educational community engagement activities in the greater Seattle area, featuring interactive performances in public schools, collaborations with local students, and free community concerts.
