Explone to Celebrate New Album Release at Columbia City Theater

Seattle rock band Explone will be celebrating the release of their fourth album Suicide Fences with a very special concert at the Columbia City Theater on August 27th.

Songwriter and bandleader Patrick R. Porter describes Suicide Fences as “a 10-song quest for joy,” set to melody and melancholy. Combining his love for walls of classic guitar rock with dreamy pop and more spacious textures, Porter and his bandmates crafted these songs across an impressive emotional range. From straight-on, celebratory rockers (“New Radials,” “Born at the Wrong Time”), dreamy ’80s homages (“Steve Perry’s Voice on the Radio,” “The City, My City”) and though dark forests of sonic shadow (“King of the Mist”), Suicide Fences tethers the guitar rock format to loftier ambitions and sets it free.

Released on August 9th, Suicide Fences is already in rotation on indie radio stations around the area, including Seattle’s own KEXP, where “Born at the Wrong Time” will be featured as the Song of the Day on Friday, August 26th. Supporting Explone at this show will be good friend Lincoln Barr, longtime leader of the band Red Jacket Mine. Also joining Explone for the evening are keyboardist Bryce Francis and a five-piece string section conducted by noted Seattle composer Stephen T. Cavit.

Tickets to the show are priced at $10 or $25, the latter of which will come with a signed vinyl copy of the album. For more information and to purchase tickets to the show, consult columbiacitytheater.com. Watch the music video for “Your Secret Name” below via YouTube.
