Eric Hutchinson to come to Portland’s Aladdin Theater on November 5th

Critically acclaimed and platinum-selling artist ERIC HUTCHINSON will bring his fall “Modern Happiness Tour” to PORTLAND on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 5 at the ALADDIN THEATER. Headlined by HUTCHINSON—who has performed in all 50 states (a milestone he reached in 2017)—and his band THE BELIEVERS, the 25-date outing supports his upcoming album MODERN HAPPINESS, due out October 5.

On MODERN HAPPINESS, his fifth full-length studio album, ERIC dives into the human condition and the need of many who rely on anti-depressants to find their “modern happiness.” ERIC says, “This album is the first music I’ve written since I started taking Prozac and the lyrics are very much about my eternal search for purpose, contentment and meaning.”

HUTCHINSION–a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer–is known for his unforgettable presence, high-energy singalongs, and live musicality. To introduce the record, which encompasses rock, pop and rootsy stylings in a collection of songs that are deeply personal, he’s opted for an unconventional and forward-thinking rollout. Over the course of 2018, he’ll drop one track per month at DSPs through October 5 when the final song arrives and his tour is underway.

The newest track to be released is the upliftingly melodic and rhythmically driving song “she could be the one,” which came out this past Friday, August 17 following an early premiere on Billboard.com (8/15).

The song follows the previously released “hands,” a personal song on the album inspired from his father’s myotonic dystrophy journey. “hands” was first released on July 24 along with a video (created in partnership with the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation) and personal essay which HUTCHINSON wrote for Medium.com.

Other tracks already available from MODERN HAPPINESS include “miracle worker,” “new religion” and “i’ll always be the one who makes you cry.” Expanding the experience, each song has been accompanied by behind-the-scenes vignettes, live video chats, in-depth podcast interviews, and more, bringing audiences closer than ever.

Once again, HUTCHINSON returned behind the board as producer for the new album. Simultaneously, he drew a spotlight on the talents of his band THE BELIEVERS–Elliott Blaufuss (Guitars, Keys & Vocals), the rhythm section of Ian Allison (Bass & Vocals) and Bryan Taylor(Drums, Percussion & Vocals)–and guest vocalist Jessie Payo. Together, they build an unpredictable sonic backdrop for the vocalist to deliver one provocative, passionate, and powerful tune after another. It’s his most immersive and irresistible body of work yet.
