McKagan will be appearing at Mike McCready’s annual Flight To Mars benefit show May 1 with members of Loaded and special guests. Earlier it was announced that Duff’s other band Walking Papers(who was originally scheduled to play) had backed out due to unforeseen circumstances. He also has a conversation scheduled for May 17 at Neptune Theater with Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic.
‘How To Be A Man’ started as an article in Duff’s Seattle Weekly column and contained some great advice like:
“See people in person: Or at the very least, call. The art of conversation is a dying thing. Man up and sit down for coffee with that person you usually text with. That’s right . . . and look them in the eyes (this may seem totally weird for anyone under 30, I understand).”
“Don’t be a pussy: Don’t shy away from a situation just because it’s tough. If it is protecting the one you love, or things are tough at work . . . pin those ears back and remember who the fuck you are.”
