Candlebox to Play Neptune Theatre on November 16th with Staticland and Fires

Classic Seattle alternative rock act Candlebox will be making an appearance at the Neptune Theatre on Thursday, November 16th. Touring in support of the band’s sixth full-length studio album, Disappearing in Airports, the show will feature support from Jeff Angell’s Staticland. In a storied career of multi-Platinum albums and ubiquitous radio smashes, Disappearing in Airports finds the renowned lineup infused with a new energy and openness. With songs ranging from the urgent “God’s Gift” to the unease of “I’ve Got a Gun” to the amorous romp of “Supernova,” Disappearing in Airports has been recognized as a bold musical statement from a revitalized band.

In our own review of Disappearing in Airports, we commended the band for noticeably being “in a more thoughtful mood on this release,” also noting that, “if all you know about the band is their ’90s work, or the “best of” compilation, it’s worth giving this new one a spin.”  The amicable departure of original members Scott Mercado and Peter Klett allowed Candlebox the opportunity to shake things up, and that newfound energy and impetus is evident in the dozen tracks on Disappearing in Airports.

Also on the bill will be Jeff Angell’s Staticland. With Angell at the helm – who’s also notable for his work in bands such as Post Stardom Depression, The Missionary Position, and Walking Papers, which also featured Seattle legends Barrett Martin and Duff McKagan on instrumental duties – the band is one of the quickest rising acts in Seattle, earning some gigs that are nothing to balk at, including heading out on tour with Alice in Chains, as well as supporting Candlebox not only on their current North American tour, but on their upcoming extensive European tour.

‘Power Lounge’ rockers from Seattle, Fires have also been added to the event.
