Balkan Night NW 2016 Coming to Seattle on March 5th!

Balkan Night Northwest is a day-long joyous explosion of music, dance, food, drink, and tradition from all over the Balkans, arriving at Saint Demetrios Hall in Montlake on March 5th. Featuring three stages and dozens of high- energy bands, Balkan Night Northwest showcases exciting and propulsive music that spans centuries, from Dionysian zournas to electro-pop dance and brass bands.

The festival brings together musical traditions from a dozen Balkan countries. Local favorites Bucharest Drinking Team, Orkestar Zirkonium, Dragi Spasovski, Dromeno, the m9, Eurodanceparty USA, and Gino Yevdevic (of Kultur Shock) share the bill with this year’s special guests: accordion virtuosos Kalin Kirilov and Sergiu Popa, who offer their own mindblowing spin on Bulgarian and Romanian music.

The party starts at 3 pm at Saint Demetrios Hall (home of the Seattle Greek Festival); the wall-to- wall music reverberates until midnight. Come early (and come hungry and thirsty!) and stay late to enjoy the Kukeri, giant bell-wearing costumed creatures who greet the festival and romp throughout the night. The festival is all ages, kids are welcome (youth under 10 get in free!), and no partners are necessary.

Beer, wine, soft drinks, and traditional Greek and Croatian food will be available for purchase at the event. Advanced tickets are available at Brown Paper Tickets.
