75 Bands in 75 Days – Day 32: Pity Kiss

Pity KissLadies and gentlemen, welcome, welcome, to 75 Bands in 75 Days, where we’re showcasing some of the best talent that the Pacific Northwest has to offer, at least one band per day, leading up to December 31st, to ring in a new year. This list is in no particular order and it is not a chart or a countdown. It’s merely a list of bands or musicians that we feel are worthy of checking out. The entry for Day 32 is a band from Seattle called Pity Kiss.

Pity Kiss is an indie/electro pop band from Seattle. In 2013 on a gorgeous Seattle summer night, Rob Kruy (Wolfsbane, Henkensiefken, Lil Puddin), Lucinda Kruy (Luna Park, The Sun-Ups, Big Splash Champion) and Rey Guajardo (The Sun-Ups, The Breakup, Henkensiefken) met over grilled salmon tacos to flesh out a new project that would blend elements of rock, hooky pop, acoustic folk and electronica. The following months saw a flurry of creative inspiration, and a new cohesive sound emerged. In May of 2014 the band recorded its first EP at Earwig Studio in South Seattle which jumped to #7 on the ReverbNation local indie charts. Pity Kiss is currently working on a full-length to be released sometime early 2015. Although the project is new, these seasoned veterans of the Seattle rock scene are thrilled to be back at work creating music.
