Ladies and gentlemen, welcome, welcome, to 75 Bands in 75 Days, where we bring you the best talent that the Pacific Northwest has to offer, one day and one band at a time. For this one we’re going in somewhat of a different direction, talking about the world music of the Jefferson Rose Band.

Jefferson Rose Band is a tightly honed ensemble of world music players, bred in Seattle, Chicago and California, by way of Ghana, Spain, Louisiana and the Caribbean. Their newest album, Feel Like Dancing, was released in June 2014 to rave reviews.  Since its release, it has earned 18 weeks on the CMJ World Music Top 40.

Listeners who enjoyed the first instrumental album, Seismic, will love the addition of singer Alex Kitchen, whose wild and potent voice adds another layer to the complex and dance-worthy rhythms. Feel Like Dancing is a window into their high-energy, superbly executed live show.
