75 Bands in 75 Days – Day 14: BlackBeatBlue

BlackBeatBlueLadies and gentlemen, welcome, welcome, to 75 Bands in 75 Days, where we’re showcasing some of the best talent that the Pacific Northwest has to offer, at least one band per day, leading up to December 31st, to ring in a new year. The 14th band up is a power-trio with a gritty and raw, distinctly northwest sound .  Here is BlackBeatBlue.

BlackBeatBlue is a 3 piece Rock Band from the Pacific Northwest who are really starting to create some buzz. Their Hard Rock sound can be described as Raw, Grungy, and considered very Northwest and Fresh. “Definitely a Seattle Sound, one I haven’t heard before” says Jack Endino, producer of the band and godfather of grunge. Did we say very Northwest?

The band strove for a raw, edgy, live-based feel for the first record “Completely Different Animal.” The end result is a disc that has the classic vibe from the region (and what you might expect from an Endino-produced record) but also does an excellent job of bridging old to contemporary rock with spaced out guitars, metal driven bass riffs alongside heavy rock drumming fused throughout with a precise urgency.
