50 Bands in 50 Days – Day 27: LocoMotive
Welcome back to 50 Bands in 50 Days, our annual year-end countdown of the most worthwhile names coming out of the Pacific Northwest, presented by GigTown. Today we’re turning you onto a newer face in the Washington rock scene, LocoMotive.
Based out of Snoqualmie, Washington, LocoMotive is a relatively young band, in terms of the date of their formation, the amount of material they’ve released, and the ages of the members themselves. Founded in 2011, LocoMotive is a musical trio with a keen eye for the best of modern and classic names in rock music.
LocoMotive is a band that’s equal parts alternative rock and hard-hitting post-grunge. While the band does utilize a style that may feel painfully familiar to some that are versed in the local rock scene, the band is differentiated from the pack when you factor in just how much talent is laid into their debut EP, El Shusho. For a band so young, the band has some serious chops, and one hell of a lead singer in Bella Mariani.
If you like face-melting riffs and feeling good about the youth in our music scene, check out LocoMotive.
