Music fans of the Pacific Northwest, get ready for our fifth annual year-end daily local music showcase, 100 Bands in 100 Days, where every day until December 31st, we’re showcasing a new band or artist you have to know about, once again presented by Verity Credit Union.

Make sure you are checking the #100Bands100Days hashtag on Twitter on a daily basis to stay on top of all the bands featured and be sure to follow Verity and NW_Music_Scene there. Some days the featured act could be an established and locally-adored northwest-based musician and other times they could be a band with a small following that just hasn’t had their deserved time in the spotlight yet. Either way, we’re fairly confident you can come away from this daily segment with plenty of new favorites. Today’s featured band is Heart Avail.

About the band:

Today’s featured band is a symphonic rock band from Spokane that has traveled across the country delivering their unique brand of sonic thunder to the masses. Highlights include playing The Whiskey A Go Go during Grammy week 2017, Sundance Film Festival, and many more. The band is also involved in their local community helping put together and contributing to many local charity shows in the Spokane area.

Aleisha and Greg found each other through internet radio and mutual admiration in 2009 and discovered they both had a similar love of a hard rock sound mixed with the classical female voice. Greg mixes down, plays and records all the instrumental parts while Aleisha writes lyrics and melodies, a sound which comes together in a perfect unison to create something haunting and new. Heart Avail has played many cities and venues including Spokane’s own Knitting Factory, NAIRMA’S Road to the Red Carpet Event, Grammy Week in Hollywood in 2017, Indie Entertainment Summit 2016, The Whiskey A Go-Go, Sundance Film Festival 2016, 2017 and 2018, The Objective #16 in Nashville and many other events in cities nationwide.

While all the band members have mastered their instruments and contribute mightily to the music, it’s the rafter-shaking vocals of Aleisha Simpson that is the driving force behind Heart Avail’s sound and they are definitely one to keep your eye on in this genre. Give them a listen HERE.
