Music fans of the Pacific Northwest, get ready for our sixth annual year-end daily local music showcase, 100 Bands in 100 Days, where every day until December 31st, we’ll be showcasing a new band or artist you have to know about. For the fourth year in a row, the showcase is once again presented by Verity Credit Union.

Make sure you are checking the #100Bands100Days hashtag on Twitter on a daily basis to stay on top of all the bands featured and be sure to follow Verity and NW_Music_Scene on there. Some days the featured act could be an established and locally-adored northwest-based musician and other times they could be a band with a small following that just hasn’t had their deserved time in the spotlight yet. Either way, we’re fairly confident you can come away from this daily segment with plenty of new favorites. Today’s featured act is Aline & Wes.

About the artist:

Aline & Wes are an soulful rock duo with impassioned vocals, thought provoking lyrics, and unique perspectives. The two met while performing in Seattle clubs. Each was taken by each other’s unique voices and songwriting style. They decided to join forces and collaborate. Their music features a melding of their styles and influences. They perform songs for people looking for a place to belong, wanting more, and a belief system or lack thereof. Their debut EP release titled, Lavender Lemonade will be available November 15, 2019.

Get ready for a new northwest music outfit that is sure to rock your socks off. With their new EP is just days away from splashdown, we’ve listened to it and there’s little doubt this duo is going to blow some people away. Lavender Lemonade was recorded at Earwig Studios and Don Farwell did a fantastic job of capturing the essence of the band. The biggest selling point for me is the vocals, both Aline and Wes bring their unique sounds to the table and when they are combined, it’s a perfect match. Aside from sharing the vocal duties, Wes Sp8 was responsible for guitars, piano, synth, drums and bass and created a delicious retro vibe on Lavender Lemonade but not in a dated way. It sounds familiar but you can’t quite put your finger on what it reminds you of. On “The Constructs of Time” they bring to life an R & B influenced blues rock sound that is sure to get the blood pumping and will keep you warm over the winter. Check out a sample below and be on the lookout for the EP on November 15.
