Music fans of the Pacific Northwest, get ready for our fifth annual year-end daily local music showcase, 100 Bands in 100 Days, where every day until December 31st, we’re showcasing a new band or artist you have to know about, once again presented by Verity Credit Union.

Make sure you are checking the #100Bands100Days hashtag on Twitter on a daily basis to stay on top of all the bands featured and be sure to follow Verity and NW_Music_Scene there. Some days the featured act could be an established and locally-adored northwest-based musician and other times they could be a band with a small following that just hasn’t had their deserved time in the spotlight yet. Either way, we’re fairly confident you can come away from this daily segment with plenty of new favorites. Today’s featured band is Champagne Sunday.

About the band:

Endearingly labeled as “Pearl Jam meets Bette Midler”, husband and wife members Jessi and Jared Fredeen have been tearing up stages and crowds nationwide since 2005 with their unique upbeat, roller coaster style shows, firing off gypsy-punk rock songs alongside everything from intimate tear-jerkers to anthemic foot-stompers. With seven albums of original material to their credit (the most recent of which will be released Nov. 11th 2018), and playing an average of 170 shows a year, Champagne Sunday is one of the rare original acts in the PNW that performs with stadium-level energy, regardless of whether it’s for a festival crowd or a group of coffee shop patrons. This act has a ton of showmanship, heart, and talent that makes for a captivating, powerful experience.

If you are looking for a fun band that is hard to slap a genre label tag on, our featured band for this autumn Sunday in the northwest might be just the thing for you. As their bio above explains, they are just as comfortable getting you up out of your seat dancing as they are having you reaching for a tissue to wipe the tears away. No matter what you call them, one thing for sure is that they’ve worked hard at developing their own unique sound and they don’t sound like anyone else in the northwest. Give them a listen HERE and get ready for some fun!

Catch them live:

They’ll be playing their album release show on November 11 at Alma Mater in Tacoma. Get show details HERE.
