Music fans of the Pacific Northwest, get ready for our fourth annual year-end daily local music showcase, 100 Bands in 100 Days, where every day until December 31st, we’re showcasing a new band or artist you have to know about, presented by Verity Credit Union. Make sure you are checking the #100Bands100Days hashtag at Twitter on the daily to stay on top of all the bands featured and make sure to follow Verity on Twitter and NW_Music_Scene as well. Some days the featured act could be an established and locally-adored northwest-based musician and other times they could be a band with a small following that just hasn’t had their deserved time in the sun yet. Either way, we’re fairly confident you can come away from this daily segment with plenty of new favorites. Today’s featured artist you want to know about is Bruiser Brody.

Fans of the rock and roll scene in the northwest will be pretty stoked to hear about today’s featured band. Of course they kick ass, what would you expect when you assemble a cast that features Travis Bracht (Second Coming) on vocals, Glenn Cannon (Windowpane) on guitar and backing vocals, JT Phillips (Klover Jane) on guitar, and Jeff Rouse (Duff McKagan’s LOADED) on bass. Let’s not forget Steve Migs from the mighty KISW sitting behind the kit, demonstrating on the new songs that he’s not there because he works for the baddest rock station in the land, he’s in this band because he can play! I mean seriously, you HAVE to be able to play to sit in with this group.

The first offering from this super-group shows us right out of the gate that they aren’t screwing around. They mash down on the throttle and deliver straight ahead, heavy anthemic rock, powered by the driving twin-guitar attack of Phillips and Cannon, bolstered by Rouse and Migs laying a rock-solid foundation and of course Bracht proving that he’s still one of the best male vocalists the northwest has to offer. The band recently recorded an EP in the legendary Robert Lang Studios in Shoreline, where a whole lot of magic has happened throughout the years, including Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Foo Fighters and so many more. Read more about the project at the KISW website HERE. Bruiser Brody be releasing the EP on October 14 at Migsfest II.

Also, if you are wondering where they got their name – yes, THAT Bruiser Brody!

Bruiser Brody will be hitting the stage on October 14 at Migsfest II at Studio Seven featuring The Last Internationale, Windowpane, Wyatt Olney and the Wreckage and Van Eps. Get more show information HERE and purchase tickets HERE.

(Listen to “Don’t Go There On Your Own” below via Youtube, and get more info about Bruiser Brody HERE. Also, if you listen closely to this week’s Migscast, you can hear part of one of the other new songs.)
