WORLD PREMIERE: Watch Headwaves’ New Music Video for “Mama”

Headwaves COVER

Today we are super excited to pass along to you one of the coolest songs we’ve heard come out of the northwest this year, from a band that is just now sprouting wings and ready to fly.  We introduce to you Headwaves and their brand new single, “Mama.”

Headwaves is a four-piece group that calls the Emerald City home. The newly-formed outfit, born from various other Seattle-based musical projects, including Imagine the Giant and The Horde and the Harem, mixes the sounds of hazy dream pop with heady rhythms and lush synth rock. Vocals tell the story of a lover watching depression consume their partner. As much as you try to console the person you love, as much as you try to understand the disease and help, sometimes you feel helpless watching the one you love struggle. Sometimes all you can do is stand by their side. Though the sound of the music is such that you can easily listen to it and find it very alluring and pretty, you feel a genuine sense of longing and heartache coming through on the vocals that top the spacious and layered instrumentals.

You can stream “Mama” below. The single is the first glimpse of Headwaves’ self-titled debut album, which is set to be released on October 18th. Follow Headwaves on Facebook to stay up to date on news regarding live shows and information about the album.
