The Goon Sax Playing Three Northwest Dates on Upcoming Tour

Brisbane, Australia’s The Goon Sax are the endlessly charming trio of Louis Forster, Riley Jones, James Harrison, whose stunning sophomore album, We’re Not Talking, will be released on September 14th via Wichita Recording Co. While visiting the states for their first ever US tour in June, the band met up with director Ryan Daniel Browne to film the video for album opener and new single “Make Time For Love,” a shining example of just how for these young musicians have come since their 2016 debut (recorded when they were the tender ages of 15, 16, and 17 years old and still dealing with high school travails).

Now elder statesmen of the Australian music scene at 19, 20, and 21, the three have created an album that is sure to be an all-timer. While the three trade off on lead vocals for many of the songs on We’re Not Talking, “Make Time for Love” features Louis Forster on lead, with a bracingly honest story about a relationship not working out, and the awkwardness and irrationality love creates while in its last moments.

Forster explains: “It’s about realizing that love is at odds with the rest of your life and admitting defeat. Head hung. We were listening to a lot of ESG and Liquid Liquid around that time so the song ended up kind of dancy. All the melody to this song was just really funny to me. We laughed a lot,  particularly when writing the part for the chorus but then the words were very earnest because there was a lot going on that I couldn’t really push aside to write about something else. ‘I’m gonna see my baby And it make me feel moody’ would probably have done the trick.”
