voroninThe Maestro Voronin returns!  Enter his tent-topped laboratory to witness his final, most ingenious creation.  As he attempts to complete his life’s work, will his last experiment finally achieve perfection? Or will his mischievous minions be driven mad with jealousy and prevent the Maestro from creating his greatest masterpiece.  With a wicked cast of characters including an airborne femme fatale, a pliant puppet, and wisecracking pranksters, WHEN SPARKS FLY is scientifically-proven to produce monstrous entertainment.

Be astounded! Be amazed! Witness MAGIC!

Known throughout the world as “The Maestro”, Ukrainian-born illusionist Voronin has been described as the essence of Buster Keaton and Jacques Tati. After graduating from renowned Kiev Academy of Circus Arts and Russian University of Theater Arts, Voronin founded his own company, The Theater of Cagliostro. He is an acclaimed recipient of first place in magic competitions in Germany, Moscow, and Austria; Monte Carlo Magic Stars award, Magic Hands Grand Prix, Siegfried and Roy prize for Master Magician, and The Great Lafayette award. Voronin is returning to Seattle fresh from his most recent European production at Palazzo Berlin, where his character is known simply as Count Voronin. An original cast member from the first 1998 tour, this show marks Voronin’s 23rd Teatro ZinZanni performance.

Shawn Skager

Shawn Skager is just an everyday joe like you, who loves music and is lucky enough to be able to write about it. When he's not enjoying long walks on the beach, getting caught in the rain, pina coladas and cheesy 70s music by guys named Rupert, Shawn can usually be found in the Northwest Convergence Zone radio studio doing either the Northwest Music Scene radio show or the Hooligan Honky Tonk Radio Hour. And just for the record, Shawn believes that Rush's exclusion from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Hank Williams Sr.'s exclusion from the Grand Ol' Opry are crimes against humanity.
