SOUND OF ECHOES

On Friday, August 18th and Saturday, August 19th, 2017 Seattle will host two all-star tribute shows commemorating the lives of its most beloved and groundbreaking fallen musical heroes. Over 40 of Seattle’s finest musicians will gather for A Night of Seattle Music at The Crocodile at The Crocodile and for Layne Staley Tribute 2017 at the Moore Theatre to perform the music of Layne Staley, Chris Cornell, Kurt Cobain and Andrew Wood through tribute performances of the music from Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Mad Season, Mother Love Bone, Nirvana, Temple of the Dog and Alice In Chains.

The Sound of Echoes film project will chronicle this 48-hour celebration through the capture of special live-performances and a compilation of interviews and stories from the musicians, industry insiders, friends, and families whose lives have been affected by the inspiration, love, and loss that continues to evolve in the Seattle music community.

Decades after the birth of ‘grunge’, Seattle continues to be one of the most creative music meccas in the United States with new bands and labels emerging continuously in the aftermath of the record industry crash.

In the recent wake of Chris Cornell’s passing and what would have been Layne’s 50th birthday along with the lasting musical legacies from the ‘grunge’ era, the two tributes will prove to be powerful nights of music.

Donations made through www.SOUNDOFECHOES.com are Tax-Deductible through the Northwest Film Forum and will help in the creation of the documentary.

Proceeds from the two tribute events and the resulting ‘Sound of Echoes’ DVD will be directed to these charitable causes:

~ Chris & Vicky Cornell Foundation
~ Layne Staley Memorial Fund: benefitting Therapeutic Health Services (THS): assisting in efforts for recovery from heroin addiction.
~ Strong Against Cancer: a leading fighter against childhood cancer at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
