Seattle band Quickie works their magic on new CW TV Series

Power-pop trio featured on “The Secret Circle” soundtrack.

September 13th, 2011— SEATTLE, WA —  The band Quickie has cast their spell on the producers of the new CW teen-witch series The Secret Circle. The debut episode of the drama, from creators of the Vampire Diaries, will feature Quickie’s gritty single “Better Off That Way (Parasite).” The band is understandably excited. “We’re hoping that delving into witchcraft will help our image,” jokes lead singer Lou Trez, alluding to the bikini barista controversy that follows them everywhere. So is the Secret Circle Quickie’s big break? “You never know how your music is going to be used,” explains Trez. “Sometimes it is a crucial element; sets the vibe for the scene… as in the Olsen Twins movie Our Lips are Sealed. Other times, as in last year’s Parenthood episode, you are just background noise. Regardless, we are thankful that Hollywood seems to enjoy our music.”Quickie isn’t the only northwest flavor on the Secret Circle. The series takes place in the fictional town of Chance Harbor, Washington, and shoots up the street in neighboring Vancouver, B.C. Producer Kevin Williamson (Scream, Vampire Diaries) told Seattle Times reporter Rob Owen that the Pacific Northwest is the ideal setting for a story about witches. “One minute you’re looking at the most beautiful vista in the world, and the next minute it’s pouring down rain and it’s just wet and dangerous, dark, gloomy and dreary.” “Agreed,” says Trez. “And that’s why these witches need a Seattle band like Quickie! Because we are a shot of adrenaline on those dark, gloomy days.”

The Secret Circle airs Thursday, September 15th on The CW. To hear Quickie’s Secret Circle song, “Better Off That Way (She Hates Me),” visit: http://youtu.be/ifMeLZX8Whg
