Scott Law ‘Black Mountain’ Album Release
& Tony Furtado in Seattle May 16

Banjo Killers is the collaboration between two established artists, Tony Furtado & Scott Law. Centered on Tony’s wicked slide guitar and banjo skills and Scott’s revered guitar and mandolin style, both stringsmen chime in on vocal harmonies. Together they cross the lines between low country blues, high country bluegrass and contemporary acoustic music with strong original material, rapid tempos and clear command of their instruments. Their collective roster of which they’ve played with on and off the road reads like a ‘who’s who’ of the world of Roots-Americana.

On Friday May 16, The Banjo Killers will combine their talents to present a special concert in Seattle at Nectar Lounge, 412 N. 36th S. The show starts at 9 p.m. and is celebrating the release of Law’s new and acclaimed acoustic album, Black Mountain.

This Banjo Killers Presents show will highlight a full set of the album’s track list from a lineup of masterful acoustic musicians (also featured on Black Mountain) including Nashville resident Samson Grisman on upright bass (son of David Grisman), two-time national fiddle champion Luke Price and emerging multi-instrumentalist Jack Dwyer on mandolin with Scott Law anchoring the guitar and lead vocals. Tony Furtado will also perform a set of original and traditional material including new songs from his forthcoming album.

From stem to stern expect to hear more Banjo from Tony, Scott and this all-star cast with a night full of explosive rapid-fire picking, emotionally charged songs and enthusiastic improvisations.
