Premiering today on Northwest Music Scene is a new song called “Happening Today” from Strangely Alright.

Strangely Alright’s new single “Happening Today” is very simply their reflection of the NOW of the United States. “My 9-year-old daughter recently learned about Martin Luther King in school” said SA front man Regan Lane. “And she has had may questions about Dr. King’s words and what they mean. That, along with my fascination with inspirational messages from the past and how they can connect to today and how when different generations say those words it can instill a different meaning to them, led to the creation of Happening Today.”

“Happening Today” is a stew of Martin Luther King, The Pledge of Allegiance, electronic drums, distorted vocals, crunchy guitars, 80’s synths and Beatles harmonies and was recorded at Mannequin Bonfire Studios. The track was mixed at Crash Bang Boom Studios with David Mark co-producing and was mastered by Todd Ensminger at The Hit Chamber.  The new single is currently available at www. strangelyalright.bandcamp.com and SoundCloud.

After the release of “Happening Today,” the band will do a set at the 2nd Annual Backyard Festival @ Louie G’s on July 21st at 6pm on the outdoor stage. Then back to putting the finishing touches on their EP Stuff, which will be released on a special limited-edition cassette with the help of Ombrello Records at a Sept 22nd Jazzbones show with Danny Newcomb and the Sugarmakers.
