Okay northwest music fans and namely Nirvana fans. The childhood home of Kurt Cobain is being offered for sale. It goes without saying that there are a number of exciting possibilities for this unique property, including moving the building and incorporating it into a larger institution or private collection. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a piece of rock history.

While surrounding houses are going for around a hundred grand this one no doubt is the best house on the block and you can pick it up for $400,000 at the moment but according to Rolling Stone you’d better get a move on because some Nirvana fans are trying to raise the money to buy it right now.

The Nirvana fans have collected $2,285 so far towards the goal of  $700,000. They have a GoFundMe page set up, so if you’d like to see Kurt’s house turned into a museum instead of buying it for yourself, you can get involved HERE

According to the GoFundMe page they want to make sure this house is memorialized by the fans so it doesn’t end up in the clutches of capitalist greed. This museum will reflect the anti-commercialism spirit of Nirvana.

Rewards for donating to the campaign include a one-year membership to the museum for $15, five years’ membership for $50, a DIY shirt with Cobain quotes handmade by the organizer for $100 and tickets to a sold-out Die Antwoord concert for $300. The highest pledge price, $1,000, earns the investor a lifetime membership to the museum, a T-shirt and a sleepover (presumably at Cobain’s house) after construction.
