With McKagan and McCready on Guitar and Ferrell on Cowbell, I Pissed My Pants plays Seattle

will_chad_on_couch_5For the last two weeks the suspense had been building about whether or not Chad Smith would show up for Will Ferrell’s Cancer for College charity benefit event in Seattle on Friday, September 19. Well he did show up, he did play and in fact brought a few others with him. He, including Ferrell threw together an all-star band for the night that calls themselves I Pissed My Pants.

With Ferrell on cowbell of course, I Pissed My Pants performed the Rolling Stones‘ ‘Honky Tonk Women,’ with Brandi Carlile on lead vocals, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready on guitar, Duff McKagan also on guitar(yes we meant to say guitar), Stefan Lessard (Dave Matthews Band)on bass and Ferrell’s doppelganger Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers on the drums.

With Ferrell giving the thumbs down sign to Smith’s drumming during the song, the pretend-feud doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon. In May of this year, Smith and Ferrell appeared in what was dubbed as the “drum-off” on ‘The Tonight Show’.
