More Love For Linda – A Tribute & Celebration of Life

Linda HornbuckleWhen Portland’s beloved soul diva, Linda Hornbuckle, passed away early Saturday morning October 4 after a two-year battle with kidney cancer, a Benefit Concert, “More Love For Linda,” was already in the works to help raise funds for her mounting medical bills.

The “More Love for Linda” show will go on, though now as a “Public Tribute and Celebration” of Linda’s life, while continuing its mission to raise funds for Linda’s family’s medical bills.

“More Love for Linda,” Presented by McMenamins, will be held 7-10 pm, Tuesday, Oct. 14 at the Crystal Ballroom, and will feature Quarterflash, Soul Vaccination, the Linda Hornbuckle Band, with Andy Stokes, LaRhonda Steele, Liv Warfield (flying in from Minneapolis), Patrick Lamb, Eddie Martinez, Norman Sylvester and other special guests.

Linda Hornbuckle started singing at the age of six in the Grace & Truth Pentecostal Church,in Portland, a church pastored by her father, Bishop Howard Hornbuckle. She began thrilling audiences in the Pacific Northwest, Europe, Canada and across the U.S. just a few years later.

She went on to tour and/or record with National recording artists; “Quarterflash”, “Nu-Shooz”, and “Dan Reed”. She later became lead vocalist for the high profile Motown Revue Band, “Body & Soul” and from there she became the driving force for the Blues act “Linda Hornbuckle & the No DeLay Band”.
