LISTEN: NAVVI Drops Third Single from Upcoming Debut ‘Omni,’ “Close”

With successful single after successful single, it isn’t too outlandish to look at where Seattle’s NAVVI currently is, and then look at where they’re headed and see big things on the horizon. The duo’s moody, unconventional approach to crafting synthpop music makes them an exciting standout in Seattle’s increasingly prolific electronic music scene. The winning combination of Kristin Henry’s whisper-quiet, shy, yet emotive vocals and Brad Boettger’s expansive, creative productions, which seem equally influenced by contemporary indie-friendly trip-hop artists and post-dubstep projects like SBTRKT, are the perfect fuel for an exciting new breakthrough artist from our neck of the woods.

Following the release of two successful singles – the busy and dimly-lit “Polychrome” and the catchy, intoxicating “In Gold” – NAVVI have released the third single from their upcoming debut full-length album, Omni. Titled “Close,” the track continues the band’s very atmospheric and enveloping sound, while being driven by one of the more forceful rhythms laid into a NAVVI track yet. The especially understated vocal performance from Kristin is matched by wordless pitched-down vocals every so often, which add to the vibe of the track and enhance the pitch-black tone of the song, alongside the buzzing synths and haunting high-pitched melodies.
