King Shelter to Play Headlining Show at Funhouse on August 1st

If you’re partial to rock bands that are much easier to listen to than they are trying to describe to someone, then come out to the Funhouse at the very start of next month to catch SoCal’s King Shelter, where they’ll be playing a headlining show off the heels of a soon-to-be-released EP. Mixing elements of revivalist surf rock, 90’s alternative rock, straightforward power pop, and hooky indie rock, King Shelter are the progenitors of their own original genre that they’ve coined, “salad rock,” in the sense that, like a salad, there are various components that make up their sound, with no one single element taking precedent over the others.

The all-ages show is set to hit the Funhouse on August 1st. Seattle indie rockers Modern Day Astronaut, Tacoma-based alt-rock outfit The Fawcetts, and left-of-the-dial Seattle rock band Fian will be opening the show. Tickets to the show are priced at $8, and can be purchased at this location. For more information about the show itself, consult the event page at http://www.elcorazonseattle.com/event/1220129-king-shelter-seattle.
